Apple never included AirPrint in the airport routers. The reason AirPrint does not work is the Express is NOT an AirPrint device. It is an Airplay device and serves the network. The reason airplay works is that is a function of the Express. It is a Print Server where the drivers must be used on your computer or device. the Express is NOT an AirPrint Print Server. There is no way you can AirPrint to a printer that does not support it. The Mac is not using AirPrint to the Epson printer. If AirPrint would not work from my MacBook (with my Epson + AirPort Express) I would not do big deal because of this - but it WORKS. Thus, the logical solution for a non-AirPrint SX435 seems to be either a third-party app on your computer, as Bob Timmons suggested, or Epson's iPrint app on the iPhone. * AirPrint works with Wi-Fi or wired network connections.
